Telehealth sessions are simple and secure, and research on video therapy shows it works about as well as in-person sessions for many common concerns (Fernandez et al., 2021). Here’s what to expect:
1. Book online or call us
Choose ‘Telehealth’ when booking. Our team will match you with the right psychologist for your needs and schedule.
2. Choose video or phone
For video, you’ll receive a private, encrypted link by email before your first session (no app download; it runs in your browser). Prefer phone? Tell us when you book and your psychologist will call you at your appointment time.
3. Connect from anywhere
Join from your home, car, or any private space. Your psychologist will guide the session just as they would in the clinic — same evidence-based approach, same care.
Telehealth often suits you if:
In-person sessions may suit you better if:
Telehealth isn’t an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call 000. For 24/7 crisis support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
Not sure which is better for you? Read Online psychology vs in-person therapy.
Our admin team will match you with a psychologist based on what you’d like help with, the approach that suits you and availability. Most of our psychologists offer telehealth, so wherever you are in Australia we can usually find someone who fits.
If the first match doesn’t feel right, let us know and we’ll help you find another psychologist.
Telehealth sessions can be funded in the same ways as in-clinic sessions:
Telehealth sessions are available to clients anywhere in Australia. Psychologists are registered nationally with AHPRA, so where you live doesn’t limit who you can see. No referral is needed for private bookings.
Prefer to meet in person? We also see clients at our Melbourne CBD, Mooroolbark, Wheelers Hill and Reservoir clinics. Call 1300 224 665 (Mon–Fri 8am–8pm, Sat 8:30am–4:30pm, Sun 9am–5pm) or book online anytime.
Our AHPRA-registered psychologists are experienced in delivering evidence-based therapy online. All offer telehealth appointments.

Is telehealth psychology as effective as in-person therapy?
For many common concerns, such as anxiety, depression and stress, research on video therapy shows it works about as well as face-to-face sessions (Fernandez et al., 2021). Your psychologist will tell you if they think in-person sessions would suit you better.
What do I need for a telehealth session?
For video: a phone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. We send you a secure video link before your appointment, and you don’t need to download an app. For phone sessions: just a phone. Either way, a private, quiet space.
Can I use Medicare for telehealth sessions?
Yes. With a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, Medicare rebates apply to telehealth sessions just as they do in the clinic: $101.55 per session with a registered psychologist or $149.05 with a clinical psychologist, for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
Is bulk billing available for telehealth?
We offer a limited number of bulk-billed telehealth sessions for eligible clients with a Mental Health Treatment Plan. There is a waitlist of about 12 weeks, and we may call you at short notice when a spot opens.
Do I need a referral to book?
No. You can book a private session directly. You only need a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan if you want to claim Medicare rebates or join the bulk-billing waitlist.
Can I have telehealth sessions if I live outside Victoria?
Yes. Psychologists are registered nationally, so you can see one of our psychologists by telehealth from anywhere in Australia.
What if I need help urgently?
Telehealth sessions are booked appointments, not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 000. For 24/7 support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or the Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467.
How do I book a telehealth session?
Book online or call 1300 224 665. Choose telehealth (video or phone) when you book. We’ll confirm your appointment and, for video, send you a secure video link.
Our friendly team is ready to help. Call us on 1300 224 665 or book online. Private telehealth sessions are often available this week.
