Psychological Support
After a Transport Accident
Recovering from an accident isn't just about physical healing. We provide professional support without out-of-pocket costs, helping you find your way back to yourself.
Feeling anxious, flat, or irritable?
Struggling with sleep or nightmares?
Afraid of driving or travelling?
It’s common to notice changes that don’t show up on scans
After a transport accident, you might not feel quite yourself—even if the accident happened months ago or your injuries seem "minor." Many people put off support because they worry about costs or administrative hurdles.
Am I eligible?
If you have an accepted TAC claim, you may be able to access support at no cost to you. We can help you navigate this.
When can I start?
We offer quick intake. In most cases, you can see a psychologist today or tomorrow without a waiting list.
How TAC-funded psychology works
Claim Accepted
You have an active transport accident claim with the TAC.
GP Recommendation
A doctor or treating practitioner recommends psychological support for your recovery.
Direct Funding
TAC approves sessions, and funding is paid directly to us. No gap fees, no Medicare stress.
No need to pay (if you have a claim number)
If your psychological sessions are approved by TAC:
- TAC pays the session costs directly
- There are no gap payments
- Appointments do not use your Medicare entitlement
If approval isn’t in place yet, we’ll clearly explain your options before you book.
What we need to get started
To help you access support, we usually just need these two things:
-
Your TAC claim number
-
TAC case manager details (if available)
"You don’t need prior approval to book. If it isn’t in place yet, we’ll explain the options clearly before your first session."
Who this support is for
You don’t need a PTSD diagnosis or to be "bad enough" to seek support. If something feels off, that’s valid.
Anxiety & Panic
Feeling on edge, hyper-vigilant, or experiencing sudden waves of panic.
Low Mood
Loss of motivation, emotional numbness, or feeling "flat."
Sleep & Fatigue
Difficulty falling asleep, nightmares, or ongoing exhaustion.
Irritability
Feeling easily overwhelmed or reacting more strongly than usual.
Fear of Travel
Anxiety when driving or as a passenger in a vehicle.
Life Adjustment
General difficulty adjusting to life and routines since the accident.

Common Questions
What if I don’t have a TAC claim number yet?
That's okay. You can still book an appointment using our low-cost options while your claim is being reviewed. We'll talk you through the next steps.
How to make a TAC claimWhat if my claim is approved, but mental health support isn’t yet?
In many cases, support can begin while approval is being clarified. We’ll explain how funding works in your situation before proceeding.
Will you contact TAC for me?
With your consent, we can liaise with TAC or your case manager to help coordinate approval and reduce the administrative load on you.
Will this affect my legal case?
No. Accessing psychological support does not affect your legal rights. Care is focused entirely on your wellbeing and recovery.
Taking the next step
Not sure where you stand? That's okay. Reach out for a chat—there is no commitment required, just a conversation about how we can help.
A gentle note: TAC funding is subject to eligibility and approval.
