William Kavanagh-Ryan

Psychologist at Melbourne CBD

"A trusting, judgement-free relationship is where good therapy begins."

I am a Registered Psychologist currently completing my Master of Clinical Psychology at the Australian Catholic University, with prior experience in the UK’s National Health Service. I work with clients across a broad range of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, trauma, relationship difficulties, adjusting to life transitions, and workplace-related challenges.

I have a particular interest in supporting men’s mental health, clients navigating major life changes, and those experiencing anxiety or low self-esteem. I also work with clients presenting with more complex needs, including borderline personality disorder, addiction, anger difficulties, and emotion regulation challenges.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s unique circumstances. I draw on evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), integrating these in a way that feels practical and relevant to your goals.

Having lived and worked overseas, including in Germany and the UK, I bring a culturally informed perspective and enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds. I am available for appointments at our Melbourne CBD (Little Collins Street) location as well as via telehealth.
