Hi, I’m Shweta – a Provisional Psychologist at The Talk Shop, Melbourne CBD.

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist in India with seven years of education & training in the field of Psychology (Counselling & Clinical). My academic foundation includes an MPhil in Clinical Psychology & a Master of Science in Counselling Psychology. I bring three years of experience as a Psychologist & Clinical Psychologist where I provided comprehensive psychological support for diverse mental health concerns and six years of experience as a Co-therapist facilitating group therapy sessions under supervision in the Indian context. I’m currently working towards a General Registration in Australia under a board-approved Supervisor.

My approach centres on creating space where clients feel heard and understood. I draw on evidence-based techniques tailored to each person’s unique needs, whether they’re navigating anxiety, depression, or more complex emotional challenges. I have a particular interest in working with young people and value the transformative potential of authentic therapeutic relationships.

I believe therapy is a collaborative relationship between therapist & client, and within the broader care network. Having practiced within South Asian communities, I understand how cultural aspects shape mental health and that allows me to connect meaningfully with clients from diverse backgrounds.

I strive to acknowledge and understand the nuances of mental health in the Australian context to better navigate client needs.
