Marta Musis

Marta Musis is a Registered Psychologist who holds a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology from the University of Melbourne and is currently undertaking the Educational and Developmental Psychology registrar program. Born in Iraq, Marta speaks both English and Armenian and brings a strong commitment to culturally sensitive and trauma-informed practice.

Marta has worked across a range of settings including Lifeline, Raise Foundation, private practice, primary and secondary schools, the Department of Education’s student support services, tutoring, and as an NDIS positive behaviour support practitioner. She has experience providing individual counselling to children, adolescents, and adults, as well as conducting comprehensive psychoeducational assessments.

Marta supports clients presenting with a broad range of concerns, including anxiety, depression and low mood, trauma and post-traumatic stress, self-esteem and self-compassion, grief, anger, self-harm and suicide prevention, and neurodevelopmental differences such as ADHD and autism. She has a particular interest in working with individuals and families from multicultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds, including refugees and migrants.

Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and neuroaffirming. Marta draws on evidence-based interventions tailored to each client’s needs, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, mindfulness and meditation practices, and strengths-based frameworks.

Marta aims to create a safe, respectful, and empowering space where clients feel understood and supported to achieve meaningful and sustainable change.
