Judith obtained her Master in Psychology Degree at Monash University in 2001. She is a registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) and a Member of The Australian Psychological Society (APS).
She values working alongside people through the various transitions and challenges of life to find ways of coping and moving forward that are meaningful for them.
Judith has many years of experience working within the community in a variety of settings and with a wide range of clients and presenting issues. She has been an experienced speaker in hospital and community settings in relation to coping with chronic illness and elderly issues. She has provided counselling that has been both office based and at the client’s home. Prior to joining The Talk Shop, she worked for four years providing telehealth trauma counselling.
Judith possesses a warm and compassionate presence that she believes is the foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship. She provides a non-judgmental and safe space where clients can feel a sense of connection, acknowledgment, and validation. Her therapeutic stance is one of respect and collaboration regarding the formulation of the client’s issues, goals, and therapy direction. Within this context, it is hoped clients are able to develop new insights, learn new coping skills, and implement sustainable behaviour change aligned with their values.
