Dr Emma Dunlop
Clinical Psychologist at Mooroolbark
Emma has spent much of her career in public mental health services and hospital settings—including a sleep disorders clinic—supporting individuals experiencing long-standing and complex challenges. She has extensive experience working with clients presenting with trauma (including PTSD, complex trauma, and childhood trauma), mood and anxiety disorders, difficulty with emotion regulation, body image concerns, and neurodiversity. Emma is also deeply committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ clients.
In practice, Emma takes a trauma-informed approach, tailoring therapy to each person’s unique goals to support meaningful change and personal recovery. Her main treatment modality is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and she utilizes Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) as her primary approach for PTSD and trauma processing. Highly adaptable to her clients’ needs, Emma is also trained in ACT, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), DBT-informed therapy, and is currently undertaking Schema Therapy training to deepen her work with long-standing behavioral and relational patterns.
