Yvonne is an AHPRA Registered Clinical Psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society. Yvonne completed her Doctor of Clinical Psychology training after completing earlier degrees in Science (Honours in Psychology) and Law. She has worked in community mental health and private psychology settings since early 2015. Yvonne has worked with people of various ages, ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds in both specialist physical health services (chronic pain, cancer) and specialist mental health services (adult, child/adolescent/family, alcohol/drugs, private psychology clinics). She has also helped to facilitate group wellbeing programmes for members of the New Zealand Defence Force and has co-facilitated group workshops focused on teaching members of the community practical skills to manage distress.
Yvonne works with people of all ages, life stages and backgrounds. She is able to assist with issues relating to anxiety, depression, adjustment to life changes, relationship/family conflict, poor sleep, trauma, perfectionism, stress/burnout, dissatisfaction with work/study, anger, emotional regulation, communication skills and self-esteem. Having previously worked in the corporate legal sector, Yvonne has a special interest in supporting people to navigate the pressures of modern life/relationships and challenging work environments. Yvonne is committed to creating a safe and supportive space for her clients to explore their challenges. She seeks to guide her clients to reach a greater understanding of themselves by collaboratively exploring underlying thoughts, feelings, patterns of behaviour and intrinsic values. Yvonne also aims, where needed, to equip her clients with psychological skills and strategies drawing from the most up-to-date evidence-based therapeutic models so that her clients can achieve greater life satisfaction in the long term.
