I am a provisional psychologist who is passionate about empowering individuals to learn and grow at every age and stage of life, whilst acknowledging that we all sometimes need guidance finding our way or generating change.
I would describe my approach to therapy as warm, gentle, and with a focus on building a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship with clients. I try my best to truly listen and be curious in getting to know the person sitting across from me. Moreover, I understand the importance of feeling safe and comfortable with your therapist, and I encourage a respectful and non-judgemental space where clients can explore this.
I have experience working within private settings, helping clients with concerns related to:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Stress and burnout
- Perfectionism
- Confidence/self-esteem
- Communication and assertiveness skills (incl. relationship difficulties)
- Wellbeing and self-care.
Additionally, I have experience working with clients experiencing:
- Eating, weight, and/or body image related concerns (e.g., body dissatisfaction, repetitive dieting, restrictive eating patterns, over-eating, compulsive or excessive exercise patterns, body avoidance, body checking, valuing appearance as essential to self-worth etc.)
- Eating disorders (binge eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, atypical anorexia nervosa)
I have a strong interest in helping people to develop a positive relationship with food, their bodies, and emotions. I also come from a non-diet approach and am weight inclusive.
I’m passionate about providing evidence-based treatment for individuals and draw on approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Non-Underweight Patients (CBT-T), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), Family Based Therapy (FBT), Satter Division of Responsibility in Feeding (sDOR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Guided Self-Help (CBT-GSH), and Mindfulness.
