Yes. Our Psychologists are experienced in helping accident survivors and are trained in trauma, chronic pain, and post-accident emotional recovery and many more.

Any registered vehicle accident in Victoria — including car, motorbike, bike, pedestrian, or public transport incidents — may qualify. Whether you were the driver, passenger, or a bystander, you may be eligible.

TAC funding generally covers psychological issues directly resulting from your transport accident—such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic pain management, and grief. If your doctor or Psychologist confirms that your mental health concern is linked to the accident, TAC should cover your sessions. For a complete list of eligible conditions, you can refer to TAC’s mental health guidelines.

If your psychologist believes you need additional sessions, they submit a Mental Health Treatment Plan to TAC outlining your treatment goals and progress. TAC will then review and approve further sessions (often in blocks of up to six at a time) based on clinical necessity.

Your first session is all about assessment and rapport building. You’ll discuss your accident history, current symptoms (e.g., anxiety, sleep problems, pain-related stress), and your therapy goals. By the end, your psychologist will have a clear treatment plan tailored to your needs—and you’ll know what to expect in future sessions.
