Susie is a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Susie has worked in both the public and private sectors and has experience in providing individual and group-based intervention, and working with clients from disadvantaged and diverse backgrounds, and with complex needs. Susie’s gentle and warm approach aims to create a respectful, safe and supportive space for her clients to express themselves and make meaningful change by building upon their existing skills and strengths. She focuses on building positive working relationships and approaches all clients from a place of non-judgement, empathy and understanding.
Susie values a client-centred approach to assessment and treatment and draws on a number of different theories and evidence-based treatment modalities when working with clients to ensure that the most appropriate and focused treatment is offered to them. These include; Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, positive psychology and mindfulness.
Susie has a passion for working with adult clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, addictions, adjustment difficulties, chronic pain, relationship issues, emotion regulation/anger and work-related issues. Susie also has experience in the administration of cognitive and personality assessments. Her aim is to ensure that therapy is a safe space for clients, where they are able to explore issues and work collaboratively toward their goals and needs.
