She also has extensive experience with both individual and group psychological interventions with individuals 18 years and over. She is a very capable clinician, having worked with individuals who have experienced depression, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, personality disorders and drug and alcohol disorders. In addition she is particularly interested in working with people experiencing relationship difficulties, separation and divorce, work stress, personal stress, grief issues, low self-esteem/confidence and life adjustment issues.

Simone has been trained to use various psychological interventions including, psychodynamic therapy, interpersonal therapy (IPT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness based techniques. Since every person’s problem is different, Simone believes that using what will assist the client is paramount. Understandably many people come to therapy because of distressing symptoms they are experiencing, it is essential to assist the person with the symptoms and if the person is interested, explore underlying causes or patterns which contribute to the person’s presentation.

Building rapport and maintaining boundaries make the client feel safe. Most importantly, Simone believes in being empathic, non-judgmental and ultimately listening to what people are saying is fundamental in treatment.
