Dr Sara Liu

Sara is a registered psychologist with clinical training and experience working in community, hospital and forensic settings. She specialises in working with adults who are dealing with thoughts and feelings associated with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, grief and loss, addictions and personality disorders. Sara also has an interest in relationship and couples counselling, working with clients to develop more effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
As a psychologist, Sara aims to establish an open and honest relationship with her clients to assist them in achieving their goals for therapy. She is passionate about working with people to enhance their overall wellbeing, and reach their full potential. Sara has experience using a range of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, schema therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. In practice, she selects from a range of techniques to ensure that treatment is tailored to the individual needs of each client. She encourages clients to provide feedback during therapy, and be empowered by the therapeutic process.
Sara has some understanding of Chinese culture and the language (Cantonese) however please note that Sara will not be able to conduct sessions in Cantonese.
