I wanted to take this opportunity just to say how much I appreciate working for this organisation. I think you have created something really incredible. From how things are structured and fee sructure to things like online resources and just the complete absence of the many toxic elemts that are known to be part of many other practices-- its all great. Additionally, you have also been very fair, professional, and helpful.

Working for the talk shop I can pretty much… I can choose my hours there. (There) are no set limits or no set targets for the number of clients I need to see per day so as someone who's only the first year out, I can actually I can decide on a client load that's sensible and sustainable for me.

I've been able to experiment quite a lot with my days and I've been able to experiment a lot with my client load to find out what suits me. I don't think you would, well... you definitely wouldn't have the luxury of doing that if you're working for a practice that had more rigid guidelines around what you had to do and how much money you had to make on a certain day.

The balance is pretty good in terms of just being able to experience a very diverse range of presentations. I'll specialise in something later, I'm sure but it's really good for kind of testing out what your strengths and weaknesses are and preferences.

Well, I like that we offer low-cost and bulk-billing psychology services which means that psychology is available to anyone regardless of their ability to pay. Well because the talk shop is so big and we get referrals from quite a wide range of sources. I've found that we do get a very varied range of client presentations.

One thing that I really like about working at The Talk Shop is that most of the time you're surrounded by a lot of other psychologists. There's usually someone to chat to or be briefed with, bounce ideas off and you never really like professionally isolated.

We have peer supervision to help each other discuss cases. Our admin team are always very prompt to understand and help. They help us to minimize a lot of hassles so that we can maximize our productivity when it comes to patient care.

It's a very transparent process I feel a lot of things are very clear.

We have a very strong team who actually works outside of office hours as well so one of them is actually flexible when it comes to work hour.

The Talk Shop is very flexible when it comes to the clientele group that we want to work with. It allows us to gain exposure according to what we are comfortable with.

I just started there just before COVID hit in March last year 2020. So far it's been fantastic I really love being there.

I like the fact that I've always felt comfortable being able to ask any question or query that I might have. And all the other colleagues that work in there they're all really wonderful supportive, (and) fun to be with. It's been great to just have to deal with my clients and their problems and not have to do with all the administration.

With all the regulations and the rules, the changes, during COVID, it's been wonderful not to have to worry about any of that and just have someone else take care of it. I can't imagine it you know being in a practice where I would receive any more support than what I do.

It's been it's a huge range of referrals so I can pick and choose who I feel comfortable to work with.

It's been great compared to a few other private clinics that I've worked at before. I think the talk shop offers a full range of support.

I'm allowed to take notes - handwriting notes.

We are bigger as a clinic and with bigger and more structured environments you just get you know more instructions and you get meetings. The team is just bigger and therefore you know I get quick responses which I didn't in the past.

I don't have to worry about you know basically anything outside of psychology and therapy so that I can focus on just working with clients. That's great.

Now The Talk Shop offers peer monthly support and supervision. I just sign up whenever I'm free and if I don't that's okay. It's optional.

If I see that a client doesn't fit with you know my approach or I don't fit with the client's presentation I can just simply refer them back to reception.

I'm pretty flexible in my hours. I work three and a half days a week and I can always ram it up.

I'm really passionate about The Talk Shop because it allows bulk billing for clients which I'm passionate about.

There's a nice community of psychologists that you can bounce things off, get information from if you feel that you need it and peer support.

I enjoy the structure too. It's all fairly streamlined. I think that The Talk Shop is very responsive.

There's a variety of different clients. From a billing and accounts perspective, it's great because it's very easy.

Just from the perspective of having good admin support and also The Talk Shop's quite good at helping with difficult clients as well.

It's also been incredibly helpful in that I've been able to come back when I've needed to and go off and do other things for my career without feeling like I was closing a door.

it's hard to imagine better support.
