Monica is a registered psychologist with a Master of Counselling Psychology from La Trobe University. She is a warm and non-judgemental therapist with experience working in private practice and university educational settings.
Monica is passionate about understanding her clients’ unique stories, and providing a safe and supportive space wherein clients can work collaboratively towards healing and growth.
Her integrative and collaborative approach to therapy honours the individual needs and strengths of her clients, and involves psychoeducation and a variety of evidence-based interventions including:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)
- Core Conflictual Relationship Theme (CCRT)
- Motivational Interviewing (MI)
She is also skilled in conducting cognitive assessments with Wechsler Intelligence Scales (WISC and WAIS).
Monica has experience helping adolescents and adults – who experience stress, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behaviours, depression, grief & loss, unhealthy self-esteem, adjustment issues, academic/work burnout, and relationship issues – develop effective coping mechanisms and find enriching ways of relating and being in the world. Monica is a LGBTQ-affirmative clinician.
Monica is available on Monday evenings and Tuesdays at the Braeside office.
