Mateja Popovic

Mateja is a registered psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She completed a Professional Doctorate in Clinical and Forensic Psychology and has worked in both community mental health and forensic settings. Mateja has worked with people of various socioeconomic backgrounds and ethnicities. She comes from a Croatian background; besides English, she also speaks in Croatian, Bosnian and Serbian and would welcome clients who may be more comfortable conversing in these languages. 

Mateja has a focus on working in a collaborate and non-judgmental way to create a safe space for clients to share their story and develop goals they would like to achieve in therapy. She draws upon a range of different interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy and Solutions Focused Therapy.
