Karl completed a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology before going on to complete a Master of Clinical Psychology degree. He completed his training over the course of twelve years of university study, which has led him to be registered with the governing body of practising psychologists in Australia (AHPRA) and attaining membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Karl has experience working with a wide range of client presentations and treatment needs, including depression, anxiety, anger and stress management, self-esteem, family of origin issues, relationships, grief and loss, trauma, abuse and adjustment issues.
Through continuing professional development, Karl is committed to providing a therapeutic experience that optimizes client’s opportunity to make treatment gains. He adopts a client-centred psychotherapeutic framework and uses evidence-based principles in his treatment approach. Having completed training in a wide range of therapeutic frameworks he draws upon Cognitive-Behavioural (CBT), Interpersonal (ITP), Emotion-Focused (EFT), Sensorimotor, Mindfulness and Schema theories. He has a particular interest in working with clients who wish to address personal development and growth.
