Dr Karl Bartl
Karl completed a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology before going on to complete a Master of Clinical Psychology degree. His training spanned twelve years of university study, which he completed in Australia. Karl’s level of expertise in Psychology has led him to being endorsed by the governing body of practicing psychologists in Australia (AHPRA), and attaining membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Karl has experience working with a wide range of client populations, with diverse treatment needs, including depression, anxiety, anger and stress management, self-esteem, family of origin issues, relationships, grief and loss, trauma, abuse and adjustment issues.
Through his commitment to ongoing professional development, Karl strives to ensure clients are provided with a therapeutic experience that maximizes their opportunity to make treatment gains. He adopts a process-orientated psychotherapeutic approach and uses evidence-based principles when tailoring treatment to each client’s needs. Having completed training in a wide range of therapeutic frameworks he draws upon Cognitive-Behavioural (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Interpersonal, Mindfulness and Schema theories. He is particularly passionate in working with clients who wish to address personal development and growth.
