Dr. Dominic Hosemans is a registered psychologist who is passionate about helping individuals explore and understand their psychological distress in order to live more fulfilling lives. He utilises evidence-based treatments within a person-centered framework, providing an empathetic space where clients can discuss and explore their internal worlds so as to develop awareness of oneself as ‘being-in-the-world’.
Dominic has substantial experience in working with children, adolescents, adults and families through a broad range of presentations – from anxiety, depression, addictions, complex trauma, relationship issues, and grief and loss. As well as his extensive academic education, he has completed clinical training in Play Therapy as well as a Certificate in Existential Practice. He is currently completing post-doctoral training in Gestalt Therapy.
In addition to working in private practice, Dominic is a Teaching Associate with Monash University, where he lectures in the fourth-year psychology and Masters of Counselling programs. He is also a researcher who supervises fourth-year psychology students. His main areas of interest are mindfulness and well-being as well as existential psychology and has presented at international conferences on his work in these areas.
