Connie Ngu

Connie is a provisional psychologist currently completing Master of Clinical Psychologist at Cairnmillar Institute.

Connie commenced her career as a mental health social worker and worked in the public hospital system with adults for over 8 years across inpatient, community mental health and crisis emergency teams. Through her experience, she has worked with adults and families experiencing a range of psychological difficulties, including mood and anxiety disorders, interpersonal and social difficulties, conflict, grief and trauma.

Connie offers a range of psychological approaches to provide collaborative and client-centred therapy that draws on therapeutic modalities from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), solution-focused therapy, and strength-based therapy. Connie aims to provide a respectful and non-judgemental space that may encourage self-discovery, new insight, empowerment and resilience for improved emotional well-being and quality of life.

Connie comes from a Malaysian Chinese background and she is fluent in Mandarin. She is also able to use conversational Cantonese.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology). Graduate Diploma of Psychology. Master of Social Work. Master of Clinical Psychology.

Connie is available on Wednesday and Thursday at Brandon Park offices for both in-clinic and telehealth appointments.
