Chris is a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and has recently completed a Master of Clinical Psychology at the Cairnmillar Institute.
Chris believes strongly that everyone has the capacity for change and to that end, he works hard to create a safe environment where his clients feel listened to, understood, respected, and supported.
Chris works with young children, adolescents and adults, experiencing a variety of challenges which prevent them from doing day-to-day tasks and having a meaningful and fulfilling engagement in life, such as: feelings and thoughts of anxiety and/or depression, trauma, addictions, and chronic pain. Also, Chris administers and writes reports that measure an individual’s cognitive ability (Weschler Intelligence Scale for Children, and Weschler Adult Intelligence Scale) and personality (Personality Assessment Inventory).
Chris adopts a client-centred approach, and tailors his therapy to the individual needs of each client, as he understands that no two-people are the same. Specifically, Chris utilises strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Throughout the duration of therapy, Chris and the client work together as a team, to help the client identify and develop specific goals to target in therapy, and to help the client learn strategies to achieve these goals.
Chris believes that it is a privilege to listen to the experiences of his clients, and he welcomes the opportunity to work with anyone who is in need of help, or who may simply need someone to talk to.
Chris is available at the Kew office.
