Cara is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society. Cara graduated from a Masters in Psychology (Clinical) at RMIT University in 2013. Since then, Cara has worked in both the public and private sectors where she supported adolescents and adults with a variety of mental health concerns. Cara has worked in a specialist DBT Clinic and public Community Youth Mental Health Service.
Cara is trained in and uses DBT, CBT, ACT, interpersonal therapy and mindfulness strategies and techniques in therapy. She combines these with her warm, empathic style to support clients to make changes they want to see in their lives, not just to alleviate symptoms but also to create a meaningful and fulfilling life. Cara works with a variety of disorders and life problems including Borderline Personality Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, grief and loss, PTSD and others.
Cara has a genuine, empathic style and holds a non-judgemental space for you to share your concerns. She believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is fundamental to providing good therapy. As a result, Cara works hard to understand where you are at, listen to your concerns and support you to meet your individual therapy goals.
