Annette is a Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
Annette has completed a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Monash University. Prior to completing this training, Annette worked in corporate settings for over 10 years where she used a range of personality, emotional intelligence, and skills-based assessments to help clients and their teams build a deeper understanding of themselves and one another. The primary purpose of this work was to support positive communication and promote overall well-being.
Annette has also spent time working with school-aged children and is experienced in the administration and interpretation of a range of cognitive, academic and social/emotional assessments for children struggling with learning or behavioural difficulties.
Annette now uses her experience and training across the lifespan to provide individualised and compassionate telehealth support services for people experiencing difficulties with anxiety and stress management. Although anxiety disorders are the most common group of mental health conditions in Australia (affecting 1 in 4 Australians at some stage in their life), it is also a deeply researched, well understood, and highly treatable condition.
Within therapy, Annette aims to create a safe, warm and client-centred environment where life’s challenges can be freely explored without fear of judgement. Annette utilises a range of evidence-based techniques in her work including Psycho-education, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. Interventions are always client-driven and are regularly revisited and adjusted according to what works well and what does not in their unique situation.
When caring for a client, Annette values a multi-disciplinary approach and believes the best outcomes are achieved when the client, their family supports, and related professionals all work in collaboration.
